The CATV(Community Access Television) system receive the content provider via RF signals(from Satellite) and converts to IP data in the head end unit and streaming the audio/video signal in the multicasting methodology. The local content information can also be broadcasted via the headend.
CATV utilizing the LAN infrastructure to transport the streaming data to any end of the network.
This set up can be used as a home internet access.
